How can I edit my profile?

If you want to change your profile information, click on "My Profile". Please chose "My Profile", "Profile Extras", "Settings" or "Login Credentials" to update your details and click the "Save Changes" button. Your changes will be saved.

What can I do if I can no longer log in?

First, please try to sign in to your account with your email address and your password. If you have forgotten your password, please click on the link "Forgotten Password?" in the navigation menu: /en/passworterinnerung.html

Why am I automatically signed out after a while?

Your profile settings are based on cookies and thus depend on the duration and deletion of the respective cookie. If you do not accept any cookies, this might cause you to be automatically signed out. You can check your cookie settings here: /?cmpscreencustom

How can I delete my account?

91��Ƶ puts increased emphasis on long term use and rewards these accounts with a more positive rating. We take data protection very seriously and treat your personal data with the utmost privacy.

If you still want to delete your account, you can do so via "My Profile" - "Delete Account"

With the deletion of your account, we will also delete all data connected to your account. Once you deleted your account, it is not possible to restore a deleted account.

How can I stop receiving email alerts about new properties?

You can deactivate this service by clicking on the link you can find at the end of each notification-email.

Of course you can also manage your email alerts via "Filters and Email Alerts" on 91��Ƶ and in the app.

How do I change my registered email address?

In order to change the email address saved in your profile, please go to "My Profile". Now, open "Login Credentials". Type your new email address in the field "Email Address" and your password in the field "Current Password". By clicking the button "Save Changes" you save the new email address. Please note that you must confirm the new email address via a link we send to your mailbox of your new address.

Why does my ad not appear in the list?

Please make sure that you have chosen the right category for your Ad (e.g. Flatshare or Apartment). By using the "Move-In-Date" option, you can easily find your Ad. To show your Ad on top of the list, just click on the button "Edit Offer" on the bottom of your Ad's page. If you confirm your changes, your Ad will be automatically updated and ranked first in the list.

If you still are unable to find your ad, please contact our Support Team via kontakt@wg-gesucht.de . Please also state your ad number, so it will be easier and faster for them to help you.

How can I edit or update my Ad?

To update your Ad/s, please open "My Ads" and click the three dots displayed to the right of the Ad title. Click "Edit + Photos" and "Update and View" at the bottom of the page. This way, your Ad will be updated (this can take several minutes) and moved to the front of the listings.

How can I deactivate / activate my ads?

To deactivate your Ad/s, please open "My Ads" and click the three dots displayed to the right of the Ad title. Choose the option "Deactivate". Once you would like to reactivate your Ad/s choose the option "Activate". Active Ads are displayed in the list again and contact details are visible.

How can I upload or delete photos?

You can upload photos in the Ad creation process. To subsequently upload or delete photos, please open "My Ads" and click the three dots displayed to the right of the Ad title. Choose the option "Edit + Photos".

What can I do if my property's address is wrong or not shown on the map?

We use Open Street Maps for our map view. In rare cases, house numbers are not entered there. If this is the case, your address cannot be displayed correctly.

In this case, simply omit your house number when specifying the street and refer to it in the ad text.

How can I delete my Ad(s)?

To delete your Ad/s, please open "My Ads" and click the three dots displayed to the right of the Ad title. Choose the option "Delete". After entering your login data again, your Ad will be deleted. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset your password using "Forgotten password?" in the main navigation.

How do I delete my ad on 91��Ƶ without a password and access to the e-mail?

In this exceptional situation, please contact kontakt@wg-gesucht.de.

IMPORTANT: Please send us your email address, the Ad's ID or the link to the Ad. For identification and verification we need your first and last name, as well as your date of birth. After the verification we will delete your Ad manually.

How do I create a PDF Poster of my ad?

If you select the three dots next to your ad in the "My ads" area and select "PDF Poster" there, you can print out a professional notice of your ad. This PDF poster contains the title and text of your Ad, and has eight "tear off" strips with your name, phone number and a reference to your Ad on 91��Ƶ. Hang them up at your university, on notice boards of shopping centers or at your workplace - this way you increase your chances of success outside the internet! On small displays, the buttons for managing your Ad are behind the button "Options".

How can I contact the advertiser?

In each ad, the contact details are displayed at the bottom of the ad page and in the top right-hand corner. In most cases, the landline or cell phone number of the advertiser is already in the detailed view of the ad. Some advertisers only provide their email address. In this case you can write to the advertiser using the "Send message" button. If you use our app, you will find an orange button with a white speech bubble at the bottom of the screen that you can use to contact us.

If you are registered with 91��Ƶ, you can also save a message as a template and send it as often as you like.

What does it mean if the advertiser does not answer right away?

If the advertiser does not respond immediately after your request, this does not mean that your message has not arrived. You have to reckon with the fact that the advertiser on 91��Ƶ receives countless inquiries and cannot answer all of them.

Unfortunately, we have no control over how our users respond to requests. In this case, you should contact as many different offers as possible to increase your chances. You can also post a request yourself free of charge. Also, our experience shows that messages with some personal information have a higher response rate.

How can I view contact information for restricted requests?

Advertisers can adjust their requests Ad privacy settings individually and choose between "all users", "only signed in users" and "only signed in users with Ad in this city."

If the message "Contact is only possible for signed in users" is displayed, you have to be signed in to contact this advertiser. If the message "Contact is only possible for those who have placed an advertisement in this city" is displayed, the advertiser has chosen the privacy setting "only signed in users with Ad in this city". In this case you can only contact this advertiser if you have also created an Ad in the same city and are signed in.

Is the tick in the messaging system a read receipt?

The tick under your sent message indicates that the message was sent successfully.

We currently do not offer read receipts.

What if I have forgotten my password?

If you have forgotten your password, please use the "Forgotten Password?" feature. This way, you can reset your password and choose a new one. Please note that you have to enter the email address you signed up with on 91��Ƶ.

I cannot save my new password. What am I to do?

Please delete your browser cache (keyboard shortcut shift+Ctrl+delete). An outdated version of our site might be saved that causes the problem.

What should I do if I have not received my new password?

Please check your spam folder first. If you cannot find the e-mail there, follow these steps:

1. In your account settings, make sure that emails from webmaster@wg-gesucht.de are not blocked.
2. Observe the 24-hour security period between password requests.
3. After this period has expired, use the “Forgot your password?” function again.

How can I change my password?

To change your password click on the "My Profile" tab. In the tab called "Login Credentials" you can change your password. To do so, please type the current password in the field "Current Password" and the password which you would like to use in the future in the fields "New Password" and "Re-type new password". The password requires a length between 8 and 64 characters. By clicking the button "Save changes", you save the new password.

How much is the service of WG-Gesucht?

As a private landlord, a tenant searching for a next tenant or as a person searching for accommodation, you use 91��Ƶ for 0,- €. Please for professional or commercial advertising. Please also mind our General Terms and Conditions.

How can I find ads?

You can find ads under "Offers" or "Requests" on the homepage or in the main navigation menu. You can choose between the categories "Flatshares", "1 Room Flats", "Flats" or "Houses".

Do I have to sign up to create an Ad?

Yes. To post an ad, you must be registered. Registration is integrated into the ad submission process. If you are registered, you can use the "91��Ƶ" button to go to the "My Ads" area. There you can easily edit, deactivate and delete your ads, in the "My Profile" area you can edit your profile settings or change your password.

How do I create an Ad?

If you have a flatshare, a room, a flat or a house available for rent, please click on the "Offers" option in the main navigation menu and choose the "Create Offer" option. If you want to introduce yourself as an apartment or room seeker, please click on the "Requests" option in the main navigation menu and choose the "Create Request" option.

What do the little people icons in front of the ads mean?

The symbols indicate how many male/female/non-binary people are currently living in the apartment share and whether they are looking for a male or a female flatmate.

Where can I find the ID of an Ad?

You can find the seven-digit display number on the web in the following places:

In the web browser:

• In the address bar (URL) of the browser.
• In ads: Below the image gallery.
• For wanted ads: In the contact information area.

In the mobile application: For both offers and requests: At the bottom of the page in the “Contact information” section.

You can easily find the desired ad in the web browser via our start page by entering the ad number there. In the mobile application, select 'Profile', then 'Other' and finally 'Search by ad number'.

Can I restore a deleted Ad?

No. For privacy reasons, this is not possible. So take advantage of the ability to Activate/Deactivate ads or print a copy of your Ad for future reference before deleting it.

How can I increase my chances of success?

We recommend the following steps to increase your chances of success:

• Design your ad attractively with customized text and expressive photos.
• Share your ad on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) or TikTok. Use relevant hashtags to increase reach.
• Follow us @wggesuchtde on Instagram. We occasionally share selected ads to give them more exposure. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us via DM on Instagram.
• Create a PDF Poster to reach interested parties offline. To do this, select “PDF Poster” in the “My ads” section using the three dots next to your ad.
